Our 1st RealEstate CE Alumni for 2019 is Katie Keathley

Katie recently completed her Tennessee real estate continuing education courses with RealEstateCE. She is an Affiliate Broker and has been in real estate since January 2016. Katie has closed over 40 deals in less than two years and done over $6 million in sales.
In January of 2017, she joined the team at Fuller Partners Real Estate, Inc. located in Union City, TN. Her specialties are Buyer's Agent, Listing Agent, Relocation, and Foreclosure.
Katie is a native of Union City, TN with strong family roots and several locally owned family businesses. She is a 2010 graduate from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in Communications (emphasis in Public Relations) and a minor in Marketing. Upon graduation, she joined the Obion County Chamber of Commerce as Membership Director from 2012-2016.
Katie entered real estate after transitioning from a 5 year tenure job.
Katie says: "I remember very vividly that years before any of this happened, I had spoken with a local broker about getting my real estate license. It was a brief conversation, as I already had a full-time job and it wasn’t something that crossed my mind at pursuing until many years later.
I was driving around one day alone in my car with heavy thoughts on how I was going to pick myself back up and move on to what God had in store for me next. I drove past this same real estate firm that I had spoken with years before and on an off chance decided to call the broker to speak about the possibility of me getting my real estate license. In the very same sentence, he says to me “I was just emailing you.”
In her own words
What prompted you to begin your real estate career?
I can’t say with certainty that real estate was ever necessarily a career I knew I wanted or initially intended to do. I just knew that I was given the gift of service, I care about people and have always had the desire to work with people because of the joy it brings me.
What do you love most about real estate?
What I love most about real estate is the joy it brings me. I find that I’m not only getting to know and meet new people constantly who otherwise; I would have never come in contact with or ever crossed their path.
As a real estate agent, you have a job to do and expectations to meet. However, you also have expectations to meet in your personal relationships outside of your job. To this very day, I still cannot balance professional and personal relationships to the best of my abilities. If you have learned how to accomplish this, please let me know.
Where do most of your leads come from?
The majority of my leads come from already existing relationships prior to real estate or by word of mouth referrals from past clients.
What marketing strategy has worked the best for you?
The best marketing strategy that has worked best for me is to simply just be myself. Do what works best for you and don’t worry or compare yourself to other agents.
